Glad to read things are going well...Hey Michelle!

Glad to read things are going well with your sweet little guy :) We dropped the third nap right around 6 months (although I've heard that anywhere from 6-9 months is normal). You'll know it's time when it starts disrupting the other naps and/or his nighttime sleep. My advice to you would to be to try to rearrange the daytime sleep a little bit so that the 2nd nap of the day is the longer of the two, or at least the same length as the morning one. As nice as it probably is for him to sleep 3 hrs for that first nap, he needs a big nap right before the third wake time- which will be the longest waketime once you drop the third nap. I hope I'm making sense :) So, I would actually cut off his morning nap at 2 hours to ensure he will take a good 2nd nap for you. Once he starts napping longer than 1 hr for his second nap, I think you'll notice he'll start resisting the third nap more and may drop it on his own. It can be tough for a week or so as he gets used to not sleeping between the last 2 feedings, so outings, walks, carrying him around the house in carrier can be nice, long bathtimes, and early bed for a few days!

Just my two cents! :) Hope that helped a little :)

JennaJennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03238164137778246482noreply@blogger.com
