The Civil Wars

You know for being a musician, and music teacher, I really stink at staying current with music.  This morning my facebook feed was exploding with status' (stati?) about the Civil Wars, so I did some You Tube research.

So far, I am loving it.  To me, this is musical perfection.

To Whom It May Concern is the first song I listened to, and it reminds me so much of the heartache I felt in the seasons of my life when I was waiting for Herb and waiting for Levi to come into my life.  Songs like this remind me to look back and thank God for His faithfulness.

Why are you so far from me?  In my arms is where you ought to be
How long will you make me wait?  I don't know how much more I can take

I missed you, but I haven't met you
Oh, but I want to, how I do

Slowly counting down the days till I finally know your name
Oh, the way your hand feels round my waist
The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste

I missed you, but I haven't met you
Oh, but I want to, how I do, how I do

I missed you, but I haven't met you
I missed you, but I haven't met you

Oh, but I want to, how I do

Dear whoever you might be, I'm still waiting patiently

What did you think of the Grammy's?  Have you heard of the Civil Wars?  If so, what other songs should I check out??  I really really really really really need this CD!!

I've never heard of the Civil Wars either, but I got chills listening to that song. The first part is exactly where my life is at right now!

SO glad you no longer have to wait for either of your boys! :)

  5. They were recommended to me last week by a friend who saw my Mumford and Sons post. Do you listen to Mumford? I LOVE THEM. The Mumford and Sons Pandora station is FANTASTIC.
