My Not So Random God

It's no secret, I am HORRIBLE at reading the Bible. But ever since I have put "Our Daily Bread" on my blog reading list, I barely miss a day. Granted, the devos are usually kind of lame. But I would say 4 out of 5 days the scripture reading TOTALLY applies to whatever is on my mind.

This morning, this is what I got...

Romans 5

1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a]have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we[c] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

  1. I really like that verse. I used to have it framed and hanging up in my room. It reminds me that all the pain I've been through has it's purpose. -Sherry El Garhy

  2. Also "not so random" is my devo for the day. I'm doing a Beth Moore study, and the focus verse of today's work was Psalm 139:13-18. When discussing the "fearfully and wonderfully made" part she said:

"Perhaps you are adopted and don't know your biological mother. God certainly did and still does. God knew her intimately enough to choose her womb for the place where He would fearfully and wonderfully fashion you. God hid you in a blanket of soft tissue and bid your heart to beat. For many days He alone knew you existed. You were His secret. God's own skillful hands knit you together, His watchful eyes gazed on you, and His wise counsel ordained each of your days."

God has already chosen the womb to your baby will grow in and He is right now preparing both you and Herb's hearts, as well as your baby's birth mother's heart. He will wrap your little one in a blanket of soft tissue, and keep a watchful eye over his or her growth until the time is right to reveal this beautiful secret to you!
